Back at the ranch we had a big lunch, a beer, and a nap. Next came a bit of gate repair and finally Mark vaccinated two of the horses.
We spent some quality time trying to come up with a route for the next few days. Although we would like to hit Yellowstone, that takes us a bit too far north. Also, the mountains limit which direction we can go out of here so any journey looks convoluted. In the end, we are going to just plan on 500 mile days that take us generally northwest. We will aim for Grand Teton National Park. After that our sights are set on the Badlands.
A direct route to Roanoke is 2600 miles. That translates into five 500 mile days. Mark has 8 days until he has to be home. In other words, we will not be pressed to make high miles.
My bike is does not want to idle when cold. I pulled the crank position sensor just to see if it was dirty, not so. There are no Ducati dealers for a few states so we will just soldier on. Once warmed up the bike runs fine.
MArk just told me that ground squirrel afternoon season opens in 5 minutes and that today is 'no limit Monday'. I gotta go!
Some of Gregg's friends came by for dinner. Gregg has turned out to be a very good cook so this was another great meal.
