Mark, Bobby, and I met Herman the German as we were packing. Herman is in charge of a motorcycle tour for a group of Europeans. Imagine renting Harleys to tour the west, only to discover that it is 104f!
We were on the road by 0645 and quickly headed north. At least we were finally off the Interstate. The first few hours were cool but at least scenery was better than on I40. We finally got to Cimmeron and on to US64. For the next hour we enjoyed some of the best riding ever. We rode by the Philmont Boy Scout Camp...what a neat place. Although we made great time it ended up being a 630 mile and 14 hour day. We will not do that again on this trip...trust me.
Matt Rambo could not meet us for dinner so we will stop by his shop on the way out of town.
